The General has pursued certain Arab Sheikhs as far as Figuig, which is an oasis on the Moroccan side of the Sahara. It is beyond the Great Atlas, and is as little subject to the weak voluptuary who rules in Fez as to the French Governor of Algiers; yet it is nominally in Morocco.
