HAVANA, May 16.--Herman and Albert Upmann, brothers, heads of the Cuban-German banking house of H. Upmann Co., which recently failed, involving approximately $10,000,000, were taken into custody late today by the secret police. The arrests followed rumors of an attempt to be made to escape by airplane.
